If you look at the sidebar on this website, you’ll see I’ve added a section for topic suggestions. I’m using a new widget called Skribit that lets you not only submit ideas to this blog but vote on other people’s suggestions as well. Ideas can be as general as “more music” like has already been [...]

“Reality Sandwich is a web magazine for this time of intense transformation. Our subjects run the gamut from sustainability to shamanism, alternate realities to alternative energy, remixing media to re-imagining community, holistic healing techniques to the promise and perils of new technologies. We hope to spark debate and engagement by offering a forum for voices ranging from the ecologically pragmatic to the wildly visionary (which, to our delight, sometimes turn out to be the one and the same). Counteracting the doom-and-gloom of the daily news, Reality Sandwich is a platform for voices conveying a different vision of the transformations we face. Our goal is to inspire psychic evolution and a kind of earth alchemy.”

In case you haven’t seen/heard Mike Rundle and Paul Scrivens released a redesigned 9rules site today and it’s more or less off the chain. And that phrase is more or less stuck in the 90s. Codenamed “Ali” it’s the 5th version of the blog community’s portal.

As summer fades to autumn, hot jams congeal into warm grooves, and Centripetal Notion serves up an hour-long mix of semi-retrospective summer tunes before the weather turns south.

macTV updated yesterday with a huge archive of high quality (many in HD) Apple related videos. I try to stay away from posting about anything Apple here (for fear of an over-saturated blogosphere), but as the company and brand have fast become a cultural staple and show no signs of slowing, this is a cool resource for even those among us who aren’t Mac enthusiasts.

Some wicked hot dancing from the 1969 musical Sweet Charity, directed and choreographed by Bob Fosse. Submitted by Andrew Eglinton from Desperate Curiosity.

Last week Centripetal Notion turned one year old. Somehow I missed this (yeah I’m a bad father), but in the end it’s probably for the best — that masturbatory, retrospective look-how-far-I’ve-come crap drives me crazy. Plus, as fate would have it, this is actually the 200th post.
Anyway it’s been a good trip around the sun. To celebrate, I decree that there shall be a contest!

Here’s an interesting look at the state of digital and traditional media from CBC and pop culture guru Jian Ghomeshi: The End. There are three segments, one for radio, TV and print, each 22 minutes long.
