The price to pay is high, but it’s too late to be a pessimist: humanity has barely ten years to reverse the trend, become aware of the full extent of its spoliation of the Earth’s riches and change its patterns of consumption.

More than a movie, HOME will be a major event all over the globe : for the first time ever, a film will be released on the same day in over 50 countries and on every format : movie theatres, TV, DVD and Internet.

On June 5th we all have a date with the planet !

Condition 1 weather in Antarctica is defined as wind speed greater than 55 knots (~63 mph), visibility less than 100 feet, and/or wind-chill worse than -100 F. Which is technical speak for the icy bowels of hell. Watch as she opens the door.

Largest turn-out ever this year with over 45,000 people, perhaps the most press ever due to the early burning of the man, and certainly the most live and archived media produced on site since its inception in 1986.

I was planning on going — would have been dragging a drum or two of biodiesel via Metrolina Biofuels for a generator, sound system and video projector to meet up with the people from Green Society. In the end I didn’t go for a number of reasons, but in bowing out I am regrouping in force for next year.

No, it’s not your imagination, or latent global warming anxiety/guilt. OK maybe a little of the latter, but it is damn hot outside — at least here in the Southeastern US. With heat indexes in excess of 110 degrees Fahrenheit it’s important to keep cool.

Saundra Young, CNN’s senior medical news producer, advises the following:

drink plenty of liquids

wear light-colored, light-weight, loose-fitting clothing

don’t consume too much alcohol or sugar (both dehydrate your body)

avoid very cold drinks (can cause stomach cramps)

limit outdoor activity to morning/evening hours and stay inside when possible
