Inversion: Tunnel House Installation

Created by Dan Havel and Dean Ruck from a soon-to-be-demolished house in Houston, Texas. Like Aaron Tang from designverb said, a perfect example of how creativity kicks in when time is running out.

That is a very interesting idea. Coming at it from a performance perspective, I would want to see ‘another world’ once I passed through the portal…shame they didn’t create something mind boggling at the other end. Still I’m sure this had a great impact on the local community. Wish I could have been there to see it!

Why would you want to see “another world” at the end? Isn’t the real world “mind boggling” enough? When you start thinking the world is boring, it is a sure sign that you are. This project is fantastic precisely because it is at once visually arresting and reminds us that our homes are precisely temporary portals from the real world to the real world.
