George Carlin: The Planet Is Fine

The planet has been through a lot worse than us. Been through all kinds of things worse than us. Been through earthquakes, volcanoes, plate tectonics, continental drift, solar flares, sun spots, magnetic storms, the magnetic reversal of the poles … hundreds of thousands of years of bombardment by comets and asteroids and meteors, worlwide floods, tidal waves, worldwide fires, erosion, cosmic rays, recurring ice ages … And we think some plastic bags, and some aluminum cans are going to make a difference? The planet … the planet … the planet isn’t going anywhere. WE ARE!

Fantastic :) – I only recently discovered his “You All Are Diseased” CD and laughed myself stupid! – Very very funny :)

I’ve never been a big fan, but recently I’ve seen several clips like this that were spot on.

(If you haven’t seen it, you should watch/listen to his take on religion. It’s so funny and pretty spot on in some cases.) I love this. Carlin is one of those people that, at least sometimes, he’s so funny because he’s so down to earth and actually saying what a lot of us have already thought–and many have been too scared to say.
