Nanoflowers

Flower-like nanostructures made from zinc oxide at China’s Harbin Engineering University by Yujin Chen et al. can detect ethanol by responding to changes in electrical resistance. Possible uses include monitoring combustion gases from factories/vehicles/etc. and breath analysis at a magnitude far superior to current techniques. Not to mention they look effing sweet.
